It is placement season at Indian B schools now, and at most schools the salaries (highest/average/median) shot up by 15-50% over last year. Considering placements at B schools is directly dependent on economy, this is not a surprise. However, with increasing international offers at most of the premium schools, there could be more than a direct correlation with Indian economy. Some schools like IIMB have decided not to talk about mega buck placements.

I wonder, if it is only in Indian B schools (at least the premium ones) that every student gets placed before passing out from school. It is celebration time !

well Raju, a few months back i was talking to one of my friends who passed out from Cranfield, UK and here's what he said:
Even in western schools the offers come before passing out and only people from India/Pak/B'desh accept them while the westerners prefer to find their calling and go on job hunt after a short break - holidaying in some exotic place. They then sit back and delve into what do they want to do the rest of their lives and then apply.
However, they are able to do so owing to the social security that their countries provide them - some sustenance allowance till they are unemployed.
Second, once Indian B-School get accredited with equis etc. they will see quantum jump in their rankings owing to the fact that students from these schools pass out with handsomely paying jobs!
